AHHH I'M BACK! sorry i was away for so long, i actually had a little parkour accident where i slipped after landing a precision and fell hitting the back of my head putting me into a coma for however long i was gone (near 3 months? was it?)
NAH! That did not happen, i was just wrapped up in too much stuff and havent been getting that artistic drive or whatever lately. But anyways i know it's not much and it's not a big EPIC RETURN! But i have not been doing character concepts much and since im not really feelin for doing full blown illustrations, i thought it'd be a good time to start doing these again xD
Like always, I'd like to start this off by saying how much I like this. I love this, for many reasons!
The line work isn't bold and thick like american comics- as step forward in my opinion. The suit looks detailed and almost like armor. I'm not a reader of comics, but is Superwoman (almost) invulnerable? If so, why does it need to look like armor?
I can't believe how good the cape looks though. It flows, you colored it really well... just perfect.
The face is almost wistful it's so solemn... Really adds an emotional depth to the picture. The loose posture of the arms and grip of the hands lends itself to the wistful feel, but the general posture of the limbs lends towards the feeling of flight and freedom.
In short, this picture has perfect choices in regards to colors and line art, and has a great emotional backing between the posture and the facial expression. Again, like with the current movie incarnation of Superman, I think the outfit is a little too armor-like for a suit worn by a nearly invincible person.
While the overall look of the work is great, there a few very minor problems with cohesiveness. The anime-styled head seems somewhat out of place and the ends of the cape seem to not have received the same attention as where it connects to the shoulders. Placing all of that to one side, the details along the chest and legs are striking and well-balanced. Especially along the legs, it gives the impression of muscularity while not taking anything away from her femininity. The body armor as a whole is very cohesive and well-thought-out. The shoes are one of the most striking parts of the piece. They are petite enough for a woman while being athletic enough for a super woman. It's the traditional superhero boot with a modern twist. Overall, very well executed.
ahaha i do have a skirt version tht i made for fun xD but sering how everybody agrees with less skin i decided not to upload tht xD maybe i'll put it in my scraps
OMG lol! i was reading and was totally under the impression you were in a coma for three months!!!!!
ah well, this is amazing! as always i always thought drawing with out lines was hard, like you did on the cape, andi like the different take you put on her costume, its more darker and kinda reminds me of a volcano?
OMG HEEEEYYYYYYYY! Have not heard from you in awhile <: D How are ya? U know we really hould find some other way to keep in touch, i only come on DA when i have stuff to upload most of the time D: Anyways how are you? xDD
